

GUWAHATI: Assam Cabinet Minister for Power, Co-operation, Sports and Youth Welfare, Nandita Garlosa, and ITFC (Archaeology) department on Friday flagged off the 'All Women Motorcycle Expedition-2023' at Group Centre CRPF Guwahati. As part of the celebration of Naari Shakti of the Nation, CRPP organized the CRPF Women Bike Expedition from various parts of the country which shall cover approximately 10,000 km across the length and breadth of the nation and culminate at the iconic Statue of Unity at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. There are three teams of women expedition being flagged off from Srinagar, Shillong and Kanyakumari. Each team will comprise of 25 Bikes with 50 women personnel who will traverse the length and breadth of the country during this journey.
The event was conducted despite the gloomy weather and rainfall with the wholehearted support and cooperation from the Department of WCD. Rubi Sarma, State Mission Co- ordinator State hub for empowerment of women, Santosh Kutum, District Social Welfare Officer, Kamrup (M) attended the flagging-off programme on behalf of the Department of WCD, government of Assam.
Women bikers will carry the message of Women empowerment and Unity. The Women bikers will cover 15 States and 2 Union Territories of the nation during the expedition.
The women bikers, known as Yashaswini' will carry the National Flag and the CRPF Flag along with the Force's message to the Nation-Desh Ke Hum Hain Rakshak'. On this occasion K.J Hillary, IAS, Secretary Sports, Pradip Timung, Director Sports, B.K.Singh, IPS, ADG NEZ Guwahati, and others were present on this auspicious occasion, stated a press release.
